(WESTPHALIA) The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a vet clinic at the Westphalia Hall Pavilion, State Highway 320, Westphalia on Monday, May 20th . The clinic will be from 3pm to 7pm.

Dogs, cats and other small animals can be vaccinated for rabies, parvovirus and any other ailment they may have at a nominal cost.

The vet services will be provided by Dr. Johnnie Richter, DVM at 254-760-6459.

(MILAM) Milam County Sheriff’s Office Brown Santa 14th annual Golf Tournement July 20th at the Cameron Country Club Founded: Dec 2010 by Sheriff David Greene and is run by the dedicated employees of the Milam County Sheriff's Office.
Our mission: To improve the lives of children in Milam County by providing toys and books during the holiday season.

Hearts Homes and Hands is doing a cardio drumming class for seniors the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. It is free for them and it is held in the Methodist Fellowship hall. Hours are 2 to 4 pm they can come and go as they choose. ( stay for 15 min or hour as long as the choose ). Everything is provided the yoga balls and the drumsticks.

Cameron Police Department has now started the year round Explorer program. This program is a career oriented learning for life and geared to help encourage interest in all career paths. This program helps students learn the life of a law enforcement officer, life saving techniques, and developmental skills. This program is open to anyone ages 14-20, no arrest history, good moral character, positive references, and must be able to attend meetings and trainings. Rosebud Senior Center is open from 9AM to Noon, Monday-Friday. We have games (Bingo, Dominoes, Cards, etc.) each day. Box meals are served with a one-day notice. The Milam Regional Farmers Market will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in March through November from 9am to 1pm at The Yards of Cameron. There will be fresh produce, meat, eggs, bread and other baked goodies along with artisans, mushroom logs, crafts, woodworking and much more. There will be washer tournaments benefitting the American Cancer Society on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at Apache Pass in Rockdale. On the 2nd Sunday, bring your partner. The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for membership in the department. No prior fire service qualifications are needed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no criminal history, have a drivers license, a vehicle to respond with, live within a few miles of Cameron, and most of all be able to repond to fires and attend meetings and drills each Monday. The Yoemen Band Booster Club meets every 2nd Monday at 6PM in the Yoe High Band Hall which is next to the Performing Arts Center (PAC). The public is welcome. Memberships are also available for $10 per person.

Blessings From God Food Pantry distributes free food every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 8 am to 10 am. In case of an emergency, Call 254-455-0380. The Central Texas Food Bank truck is at the Yards of Cameron every 3rd Wednesday of every month for distribution.

Enrollment for GED classes is getting underway. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8PM. ESL classes will also be held. ESL classes will be Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6PM. Crafting Galore will meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, from 12:30-4PM roughly at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center located at 111 N Travis in Cameron. This is a community group for all Handcrafters. If you're working on a project, competed 1 and want to share it, or just looking for ideas or instruction, this is the group for you.
